Global Citizen Forum Raises US$400,000 for Barbuda Reconstruction

After three days of speeches, entertainment, and celebrity-appearances – including Robert DeNiro and Wyclef Jean – at the Montenegrin seaside, Arton Capital reports that a charity auction that took place at the Global Citizen Forum raised some US$400,000 to help the reconstruction efforts on the island of Barbuda, where Hurricane Irma leveled some 95% of buildings last month.

“We have gathered some of the greatest minds on the planet and examined some of the world’s biggest problems. We will now be looking ahead to how we can all make a significant and positive difference. Thanks to the generosity of our participants and sponsors we raised over US$400,000 to help rebuild Barbuda,” said Armand Arton, founder of Arton Capital, according to Caribbean News Now.
